The Canazei di Fessa ski resort is located in Italy on the Canazei Mountain and is a one of a kind holiday retreat. Recently becoming popular the Canazei di Fessa continues to grow, as more people discover the scenic trails which are perfect for beginners and intermediate skiers. The town works hard to maintain its, “small town”, friendly atmosphere making it a wonderful location for all types of skier. The resort is surrounded by the Dolomite peaks, Canazei is one of the most world famous alpine resorts. The town has a population of 1,820 and an altitude of 1,460 metres. Canazei is a very attractive, lively roadside village set below well forested slopes.
Skiing in Canazei Di Fassa
There are 17km of slopes for every level (predominantly reds) in this resort, there is also the fully equipped Dolomiti Snowpark, reserved for freestylers, with the baby park – Funpark Enrosadira – next to it. From the Belvedere basin it is possible, by crossing the piste which runs down towards Pian de Frataces-Lupo Bianco, to get over to the nearby ski area of Col Rodella. You can then return to Canazei along the trail in the woods, or to reach Arabba or nearby Val Gardena. There are nine ski areas with 80 lifts operating throughout the resort. It is also the starting point for the legendary Giro dei Quattro Passi a ski tour of about 40km considered among the most beautiful and spectacular in the world. There are some nursery slopes for beginners and crèches on the snow for children.
The cross country centre in Canazei is right in the town in a closed, reserved area where you can take your first steps. For the more confident skier Soreghes-Sot Ronch is an area on the large plain that connects Canazei to the town of Campitello di Fassa. The pistes are always perfect and the routes are peaceful making it easy to enjoy the fantastic views of Sassolungo or of Sass Pordoi.
Location and Access
The nearest airports to the resort are Milan Malpensa and Trento, and taxis can easily be found at the airports or booked online for transfer. The closest railway stations are Trento, Bolzano and Ora and there are daily bus connections from these to Canazei di Fassa. There are weekly connections with coach lines from Italy’s main cities.

Canazei di Fassa is renowned for its warm hospitality and the different types of accommodation it has to offer. The resort has 300 hotels, guest houses, B&B’s, room rentals, mountain huts and more than 1,300 private apartments. There are also a number of hostels and campsites giving ample choice for all types of holiday maker.
What to Pay
Ski passes cost 40 euros for adults and 28 euros for adults per day, and 146 euros for both adults and children for 6 days. Accommodation prices vary greatly depending on time of year, star rating and type of lodgings. Ski equipment can be hired from a number of stores some of which are attached to hotels and included in the price. There are some very reasonable package deals which include everything you will need.
