Skiing in Megeve
The resort sits at an altitude of 1100m. It offers over 300km of downhill pistes, most of which run through the woods providing some shelter for skiers during poor weather. It is served by 79 ski lifts able to transport 52,000 per hour and the highest lift reaches 2350m.
The Skiing here is extensive and the pistes refreshingly uncrowned. There is enough variety here to suit all abilities however intermediate skiers are best catered for. The nursery slopes and gentle runs are ideal for beginners but experts may need to explore the off piste routes to challenge themselves. The resort has a freestyle airbag for those brave enough to jump, a secure tobogganing run and several snow parks ideal for children. A good choice of cross country trails are available, approximately 12 km, some of which specifically designed for beginners and there is also a snowboarding park .
Location and Access
You can find Megeve in south east France in the Rhone-Alps region. It is situated near Mont Blanc in the heart of the French Alps. Geneva Airport is only an hours drive away and welcomes flights from numerous airlines. Megeve is approximately 550miles from Calais by Motorway for those travelling by ferry from the UK and takes roughly 8 hours. The main road link to the resort is the D1212.
